Consequences of bullying
Reflection of a Bully / Why did you bully him? / He didn't offend me, but I found him annoying. He usually stays quiet, seems not to have many friends. Therefore, I think even if I bullied him, no classmates would help him, so I chose him. / How did you bully him? / I gave him bad nicknames, and I took a screenshot of his photos on the internet to mock him. Then, using his name, photos and phone number to create accounts for him on social networking websites so that others would make fun of him. I also enlisted some classmates as trolls, creating stories online to damage his reputation, making others believe it to be true. / Have you ever considered the feelings of your classmate who was bullied by you? / No, I don't care about his feelings. I think it's ok as long as it's fun. / Have you thought about the consequences of bullying others? / Expecting scolding from teachers, punishment from the school; at most, writing a 'repentance letter' or an 'apology'. If I have to write, I'll write. I don't care! / It has been a whole year since the incident. Why do you now have different thoughts about bullying your classmates? / I thought it was just teasing that classmate, I never expected things to escalate. Their parents complained to the school and even involved the police, saying they would sue me. Afterwards, the discipline master, principal, school social worker, and even police came to talk to me one after another. / I originally thought other classmates would laugh at him together. I didn't think that they were disgusted by my actions, they exposed how I bullied him on the internet, which led to me being doxxed. / I thought people would forget about it after some time, but even now, evidence of me bullying can be found online anytime. In result, I wasn’t picked for the positions in several good auditions, just because others think I have a bad character. / Not until now I understand that I don’t think about consequences, doesn't mean my actions are without consequences.
